The Adagio musical instrument shop at c/ Muntaner, 300 was designed in 1972 by the architects Esteban Hiesta. Its ceiling design was a minor revolution in those days: it is covered with light elements shining in all directions and resembling the feelers of a snail.
Since the shop is filled with innumerable instruments, especially upright and grand pianos, it takes a bit of imagination to visualize the brilliantly designed interior. The fittings have also suffered wear and tear over the years. The shop is due to be renovated in 2001, and one can only hope that not to much will be renewed.
