This museum, designed by Josep Lluís Sert in 1974, is one of the finest such buildings to be constructed during the 1970s. It contains a comprehensive collection of sculptures, paintings and drawings by Joan Miró. A gallery shows regular exhibitions of works by national and international artists. The "Espai 13" is available for the presentation of contemporary art. There is also a large library, a magnificently stocked bookstore and a gift shop. The museum also has a very good restaurant with a garden terrace, a bar, and an auditorium.
